ABOUT THE ROLE

> 5 to 6 sessions/week, or 1 week on 1 week off, or 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, or 1 month on and one month off
> No extended hours
> Very small Practice with a small number of patients. Ideal for continuity of care

> Clinical Support Staff: Practice Nurse, Nurse Practitioners, HCA, Social Prescribers, GP Care Advisors, First Contact MSK Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacist, dispensing team

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

> Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
> Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
> Be integral in practice meetings such as clinical governance and MDT meetings.
> Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
> Participate in audit where appropriate.
> Communicating effectively with patients to ensure understanding of their conditions and treatment plans.
> Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
> Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development
> Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
> Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals.

REQUIREMENTS

> Newly qualified as well as experienced GPs
> Experience of working in a primary care environment
> Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
> To work collaboratively with the ICB, PCN and Neighbourhood including participation in training events, professional meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings, significant event analysis and other activities in the interest of the individual, team development and improved care of patients
> Evidence of a commitment to on-going personal & professional development
> Experience of working in a primary care as a qualified GP or during Training Specialty
> Fully qualified GP
> Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for managing own workload
> Registration on the Primary Medical Service Performers List
> Ability to work within the changing structures of the NHS and work to the requirements of other regulatory bodies
